Nam Prik Gapi Recipe
Nam Prik Gapi is a Northern Thai Shrimp paste dipping sauce.

Nam Prik Gapi

2 Tbsp |
Gapi (Fermented Shrimp Paste |
| 15 grm |
1 Tbsp |
Garlic, sliced |
| 15 grm |
1 Tbsp |
Dried shrimps |
| 5 grm |
1 Tsp |
Prik Kee Noo, Chillis,( or any other very hot Chilli) finely chopped |
| 15 grm |
1 Tbsp |
Thai small Eggplant, finely chopped (or use aubergine) |
| 45 ml |
3 Tbsp |
Lime or lemon juice |
| 45 ml |
3 Tbsp |
Fish sauce |
| 45 grm |
3 Tbsp |
Palm Sugar (Ordinary sugar will do) |
1. Using a Mortar and Pestle, mix to a paste the Gapi and the Garlic. Add the dried shrimps, eggplant and chillis and continue mixing until a paste.
2. Add the sugar, fish sauce and lime juice and mix in well. Adjust to taste. If too dry add a little water.
3. Place in a small dish and serve with fresh raw or lightly steamed vegetables, Plah Tu (fried mackerel)
