

Khao Soy is Chiang Mai's signature dish. A combination of soft and deep fried egg noodles is served with a coconut milk curry sauce, somewhat similar to a Massaman curry. As Khao Soy is Muslim in origin it is usually served with either beef or chicken. Khao Soy is always served with a side dish of pickled cabbage, shallots, lime and Nam Prik Pao.
Khao Soy is a Breakfast / Brunch dish, extremely popular with Thais and visitors alike. Many Thais coming to Chiang Mai from Bangkok and the south make a visit to a Khao Soy shop a priority.
