Our Chiang Mai Gay Guide to Gay Chiang Mai has details of Gay Bars, Gay Massage and Gay Saunas. The scene in Gay Chiang Mai is completely different from that seen in Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket. The atmosphere is very laid back . Many changes have taken place in the last few years and Chiang Mai has seen a decline in the number or raunchy show bars and the emergence of a more relaxing style of Beer Bar many with outdoor seating areas. The Gay Scene is more or less confined to three areas in the city, Chang Puak / Santitham, The Night Bazaar and the old Peak area behind the D2 Hotel. This latter area is being re-developed and so the bars still open there may be short lived. Venues come and go with great alacrity so always check before visiting. Gay Massage parlours abound and there is also a Gay Sauna in the city.

The Night Bazaar area and including the area around the Old Peak climbing wall is now very quiet with few customers. Some of the bars have already closed. The main Gay area in Chiang Mai is now the Chang Puak/Santitham area with many flourishing establishments and seemingly a good supply of customers. This area also has Gay and Gay friendly accommodation.
